Breaking News! PS4 Used Game Policy Up To Publisher Says Tretton

In a interview just done on GameTrailers.com, Jack Tretton has made a bit of a clarification in regarding to their used game policy. While Tretton confirms it is no problem on first party titles, he goes on to say that ultimately it’s up to the publisher whether or not there is some type of DRM for their game.

“Well, I mean, we create the platform, we’ve certainly stated that our first-party games are not going to be doing that, but we welcome publishers and their business models to our platform,” Tretton said. “There’s gonna be free-to-play, there’s gonna be every potential business model on there, and again, that’s up to their relationship with the consumer, what do they think is going to put them in the best fit. We’re not going to dictate that, we’re gonna give them a platform to publish on.

“The DRM decision is going to have to be answered by the third parties, it’s not something we’re going to control, or dictate, or mandate, or implement,” Tretton added.

While it doesn’t check every 24 hours like the Xbox One, Sony was a little sparse on their policy last night at the presser. If publishers want to do an online authentication it will be done by the publisher itself, not part of the system like Xbox One.

The Crew – E3 Trailer

Ubisoft impressed a lot of people when they announced this title at their press conference yesterday. The Crew is a MMO racing title, that will take you across America. That’s right, America. Your playing field is the whole country, from the east coast, all the way to the west. Drive all the way across if you want, or just pop open the map and warp to a specific place instantly. I’ll post the demo they showed at the presser later on, it’s very impressive and really hope it catches on. It’s a mix between Burnout and Test Drive: Unlimited, that seems to be the best way to describe it. With 100s of players across America.

Forza Motorsport 5 E3 Trailer

It’s official, the next generation of consoles will make games look even better.

Turn 10 is here to prove that will this brand new, all in game footage trailer for E3, they have dropped some really cool details on the new next gen title. Long gone are the days of AI, well kinda, Forza 5 will use the cloud to take racing tendencies from actual players and use them as your in game opponents. If your Drivatar is racing other players (even while you’re offline), the next time you come online, you will have a pot of credits that you earn from your races as the Drivatar. Pretty cool cloud stuff if you ask me.

Forza 5 Teaser Trailer

Turn 10 Studios have released a new, short but sweet trailer for Forza Motorsport 5. In the brief 20 second trailer, you’re shown a Ferrari, Pagani, and the new McLaren P1.

All these cars are shown racing through a few different tracks and a couple nice interior shots are shown too.

I personally can’t wait for this, as most of you probably know, I am a huge die hard fan of the Forza franchise, and I won’t lie, might push me over the edge to get a Xbox One first over a PS4. Also, I’ll be able to get Gran Turismo 6 on my PS3!

Call of Duty: Ghosts – All Access Video

Earlier today Activision had a 30 min All Access look at Call of Duty: Ghosts. They wanted to show the public what they would be showing at E3 to the press.

The video shows off the “Into The Deep” level, which takes place all underwater. It actually looks pretty cool from what they have shown. Also, they show off a behind the scene look at your new four legged companion that you will have to help you during your all out warfare battles.

It should be noted too, that its confirmed this demo is running on Next Gen hardware. Which console it is hasn’t been revealed yet, but based on the video, it looks pretty good. It’s always hard to see the fine details when watching a streamed, compressed video online, but right off the bat textures and lighting looks fantastic.

 

What are your thoughts on the All Access video? Personally, I want to see more, especially multiplayer. I’d love to see some great innovation with the Call of Duty series with the help of a Next Gen console.

What We’re Playing: June 1-3 Edition

It’s been a busy time here at NovaGamer, unfortunately not the good gaming type. Some of us have managed to get in some good play time, but some (me) only managed a little play time. Let’s take a look at what we have been playing!

Dave (djskizim) – Between moving, work, and a new puppy, I’ve only managed to squeeze in a little gaming this weekend. I picked up Bioshock Infinite from Best Buy for $30. So, if you don’t have it… Go buy it now!! I’m only an hour or so in but I can tell it’s going to be an epic ride! Other than that I’ve put some more time into Forza Horizon. With the announcement of Forza 5 coming to Xbox One as a launch it got me excited to play some Forza. Hope this week brings more game time!

Mark (@cybellin) – I’m in Africa again, so I’m probably roasting in the crazy African heat and getting some mobile games in!

Dan (@joker27th) – I’ve been crazy busy as of late, but I managed to get a little gaming in. I borrowed BioShock Infinite from Mark, but yet to play it, as I have been trying to get through the original BioShock. Mix that in with some NHL 13, and that pretty much wrapped up my weekend of gaming.

Ben (@BenEBremner) – I’ve just finished playing Sniper Elite: V2 and have now just started to play through Spec Ops: The Line (Which is AWESOME) on the PS3. Hope to have it done by the 14th, as I’ll be lining up to get a copy of “The Last of Us” as I know it’s gonna be the last great title I’ll get before the PS4 comes out.

Jon (@jonhawco) – Played me some WoW and Neverwinter this weekend, as I just got back from a sunny vacation in Florida.

Austin (junomrpb) – As you can see by the insane amount of Quick Reviews I have put up, I’ve been busy playing some of the latest indie titles that have come out in the last little while, and most I’ve been enjoying greatly! Don’t forget to check out all my reviews as of late and let me know what you think in the comments!

Borderlands 2 – Krieg The Psycho DLC Launch Trailer

2K has a new trailer detailing some of what you can expect when Borderlands 2 newest playable character is released tomorrow. Unfortunately he is not part of the season pass this time around, and will cost 10$ on PS3 and PC or 800 Microsoft Points. I ain’t gonna lie though… He looks pretty damn badass!

This trailer is probably not supposed to be out there until tomorrow, but hey, us at NovaGamer will get you the goods you need!
